What's This From?

"This is Hi-Fi... high fidelity. What that means is that it's the highest quality fidelity. It has the TK-421 modification which gives it 4 quads per channel. So basically you get twice the bass with the TK-421."

I know, I know, it's too easy. It still makes me laugh.

Can anyone tell me where another completely unrelated reference of "TK-421" appears?

TK-421 is the designation of one of the stormtroopers in the movie Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

TK-421 and his counterpart, TK-422, were guarding the Millennium Falcon when they were summoned up the ramp, and then shot by Han Solo. TK-421's armor was then taken by Luke Skywalker and used to sneak through the Death Star.

Is that quote from Don Cheadle's character in Boogie Nights? I remember a scene with him explaining that kind of stuff to a customer.

That was the stereo in the end of Boogie Nights. Took me completely off guard. I was like "MAN THAT IS SO FAKE! THAT'S STAR WARS STUFF."

Wife: Settle down honey, you're the only one who probably knows that.

They are also a nod to Lucas' film THX-1138. Try looking all the places that one shows up. It's ridonkulous!

By the way, my email I am using for this comment is chewie77@gmail.com which a combo of the year Star Wars came out and of course, everyone's favorite Wookiee.

Ha ha ha....Yep Boogie Nights it is. However it is not at the end when he is hooking up the stereo at Burt Reynold's house. It was at the beginning of the movie when he was working at the stereo store. I didn't even know about the Star Wars Reference.

Yep, the end is just his commercial, right? Doesn't he get in trouble for playing some real country music?

Yeah, he puts in an 8 track and the customer leaves. An obscure yet hilarious part.

I think more people might know the Star Wars reference. I went to a tech school in Chicago, and people used it for their nicknames on games/avatars/chat channels etc.
