Why I Don't Like Your Website
I have seen a LOT of these posts floating around lately. Most of them are talking about the typical things on a website that provide some level of soothing irritation. Things like music playing on the load, resizing of the window, slow load times or a bunch of multi-colored fonts like comic sans.
Here are a couple of things that I can contribute to the lists going around. I have an extreme aversion to the mPire widgets that hold your browser hostage until they finish loading. The second thing that I want to add to the list is the annoying little voice that says, "Congratulation, you may have just won an iPhone."
Since you should always try to be positive, I think I will end this by saying something uplifting.
- I like your website because it has easy to see and use navigation.
- I like your site because because the text is broken up into easy to read segments.
- I like your site because it is extremely relevant to the keywords I was searching for.
- I like your site because it looks like someone took their time on the design and did the little "extras."
- I like it when you respond to me in a timely manner.
In summary, I LIKE it when you give me feedback about MY site to help me improve it. Thanks!
We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

Glad that I'm not the only one who hates those mPire ads. You might like www.websitegrader.com too!
Yep, that is a good one too. Nice Ear Blubber by the way.
I hate the widgetbucks ads. My site loads slow because DreamHost sucks. But, if you notice, the bloggers who bash other sites, usually have crappy looking sites themselves. Just my humble little opinion. :D
Good write up, mate.
Well, one thing that I dislike is the annoying Kontera Pop Up Ads. -_-
I always try my best not to hover my mouse over them. -_-
Anyways, thanks for sharing this linkie:

Very useful website!!!
Now I know what I need to do to optimize my site!
Thanks!
I don't mind the feedback, but what the hell am I supposed to do when I am told " move your widget" and then
"remove ads" What the hell? Move what widget? Remove what ads? all of them? I just wish people would help a little more.
Ha ha ha... I have Kontera. Uhhhh. Sorry. I guess I could take that off since I don't make with it or any others for that matter. Thanks for the comment Deimos.
@etta - I guess you have to take the comments with a grain of salt.

I'm glad you're speaking up (or is that out) about WidgetBucks and imPire ads... I thought it was just my browser.
If there's ever any of us could stand to print on our foreheads... technology almost always runs way ahead of the general population.
Software will always push the limits of the hardware, and those of us who are online (and have been online for years) forget that most folks are clueless, and when things don't go right, they run... really fast... away from your site.
I have an add widget ad on mine and it makes me furious. I stuck it on the bottom but I'm still not happy. I have others that hold the site hostage also and I have to go root them out. But right now I have those double lines in my post that have very vulgar ads coming from them. I'm ready to tear my hair out.
Nice blog you have here.
Thanks for stopping by magdalen.
Thanks for the tip about websiteoptimization.com... Checking mine now.
Hear, hear! I've made the mistake of visiting one site that has about a dozen of those mPire ads and completely locked up my browser three or four times. What's amazing is that the ads to get people to sign up to put those on their site are the "Ads Suck...Ours Don't" ads you see so much of.
I think the multitude of sidebar ads has something to do with envy of others' sites. Like testing out a new ad program and the like.
I'd say stick to the basics, if I'm not one of those who feel envious at the "cool" widgets that others have... so there you go. :D
While reading "what I do like about your blog", I was thinking of my own blog to see if it fits the criteria. I think I am okay except for the generic design. I am not a big designer, nor do I know a lot about html, but as time goes by I try to add things that make my blog more appealing. Maybe someone could offer blog design for Typepad users in the new Entrecard Shop!!
Thanks for your info!
I hate mPIRE Ads!!! haha. Beth, I agree with the Widgetbucks as well.
Oh lawdy yes the mpire widgets. I don't care if they load slow but don't hold my browser hostage, damnit.
