Gas Prices?

Here in my area gas is costing about $3.10 a gallon. My truck gets about 20 MPG if I am nice to it. Yes, I know I am not being the most ecologically sound individual but I really do need a truck. I haul a ton of stuff and the 4WD is almost a necessity here in Iowa, especially this year with all the snow we had.

So, here's what I want to know - What do you drive and how much is gas where you live?

And yes, I do want to hear from all you Europeans who lambasted me and the U.S. about our energy consumption in this post showcasing a luxury RV.

IN WASHINGTON ITS $3.41, NOW IF EVERYONE STOPS BUYING MOBILE AND EXXON FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR, THEY, BEING 2 LARGEST OIL CO.'S THEY'LL LOWER THEIR PRICES AND ALL OTHERS WILL FOLLOW. THIS CALLED A GAS WAR AND I'VE SEEN IT AS LOW AS 14.9 CENTS A GALLON. I FIGURE ABOUT $2.00 PER GAL. AND THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD BE MAKING 50 CENTS A GAL. SO DONT BUY GAS OR DIESEL FROM EXXON and mobile for the rest of the year. mike

Mike - That sounds great in theory. However I don't think that people think about WHO they are buying their gas from. My question is, How do you know where places like Quik Trip, 7 Eleven, Kwik Star, PDQ and the other convenience stores are getting their gas from.

I drive a Mini-Cooper, and I am paying on the average $3.33 a gallon. I don't drive around much, so I fill up every couple of weeks. I live in Miami Beach

I know Wisconsin has terrible gas prices. They were about 40 cents a gallon more than Iowa

The cheapest station near me has regular at 2.96 per gallon though everywhere else is at least 3.05. My truck which is seldom moved out of the yard only gets about 8 mpg. It is all heavy duty and when we need it a small more economical truck would not work in its place. Mostly we drive a Pontiac Grand Am that gets 32 mpg local driving and 40+ on the highway.

I drive a hyundai elantra and get an average of around 25 miles to the gallon doing mostly city driving.

Here in my part of washington state (very northwest corner) we're paying 3.69 for gas.

Either you've got a broken mpg calculator on that Grand Am, Coleman, or you need to roll it in to the factory at GM and let them figure out what they did different on yours. Most get less than 30mpg on the highway.

3.39 yesterday. Purchased a new little Ford Focus ostensibly to get better gas mileage and am averaging 28-29 mpg right now, but just threw in the Full synthetic so that may improve some in the next couple of months.

Hi, I drive a Toyota Yaris Verso Sol, it uses 0.6 litres per 10 kilometer. Currently we buy 95 octan at $2.30. Diesel is a bit more expensive since its polluting more.

Oh, I live in Norway/Europe.

I own 1 car and 1 monster SUV! Yes..I know..I'm an eeevil conservative and I could care less about our environment! LOL. In any case, in the Tampa Bay area it is now $3.26. I drive a Scion TC that gets 28/33 mpg and my wife drives the SUV that gets 19/23 mpg. It cost me $42.50 this past Friday to fill up my tank. It cost my wife "around $90." She didn't want to tell me exactly how much. She's so wonderful like that! I'll find out anyway when I go to balance the checkbook. I'm going to need proof in order to apply for the loan at my local Mobile/Exxon!

I drive a Rodeo that gets around 23 miles per gallon city-gas here in Orlando is around $3.28-$3.48 per gallon. Luckily I live 5 miles from my work. My hubby drives a Honda Civic and it gets great gas mileage. I would like to get rid of the Rodeo, but the car payment on it (NONE) will help out if gas prices go higher I figure!

I am an American living in France since 1990

Today 1 Euro = 1.54393 US Dollar (costs $1.54 to buy one euro)

gas per liter 1.39 Euro ($2.14606 for one liter)

1 US gallon = 3.78541178 liter

3.78541178 * 2.14606

I pay $8.12 a gallon
