The Meaning of Life
I was going to title this post "Britney Spears Doesn't Know What I Know" because I wanted to see if Britney still has the drawing power that she once did when I wrote the Britney Spears article a while back. That one was good for a nice little traffic spike. Obviously, I decided against the linkbait.
Anyway back to the actual meat of this post. I really don't know what the meaning of life is (in a philosophical sense), I haven't got it figured out yet. However, there are a few things that I have learned along the way that I don't mind sharing. They may not be profound or enlightening, but I think they are worth conveying. So here they are in no particular order.
- Time always moves the slowest when you are sitting in church.
- Time always move the fastest when you are with the love of your life (or when you are playing video games).
- NEVER take a laxative and a sleeping pill at the same time.
- Trust is earned
- The only one you can count on to do the right thing is you.
- Give 10, save 10 and live on the rest.
- Do stuff with friends. Memories are built through adventure. No one ever reminisces about the time you were sitting in the recliner with the remote (unless of course you soiled yourself in the process).
- Pick your battles.
- Develop a passion for something.
- Surround yourself with people that are smarter than you.
So what have you discovered in life? Don't be shy, share with Big Pops.

Are #4 and #7 related?? Beer then liquor, you've never been sicker...
They very well could be.
I like the list, very true.
What have I learned?
1) Trust your intuition.
2) Believe in yourself.
3) Be kind to yourself. If you don't like yourself, who else do you think will?
The laxative-sleeping pill combo is indeed a big blunder.
I've learned (so far) that:
1) taking your medication as prescribed is very important, no matter how you feel about it or how much you don't want to
2) people are very seldom actually paying attention to you
3) little moments are what make up your life, big moments are a gift
I loved your post, and look forward to snooping around your site. (I've taken a break from 20 yrs. in high-tech mktg/adv. to devote time to my 'meaning of life' journey.) So your list will list will probably be taped to my frig soon...
As my simple way of giving back, I'd like to offer you (and all who read this) a Gift copy (pdf) of my book, "No Experts Needed: The Meaning of Life According to You!"
No strings attached...really!
You can read an excerpt -- of how this 'dot com' victim began a Spirit-led adventure -- on my website: www.noexpertsneeded.com
Then just e-mail me your request, and I'll send a file to you within 24 hours.
Yes, that's all you have to do. And, yes, you can trust that there are no strings attached.
Simply my way of giving back...
take care,
