Twitter?

I went ahead and set up a Twitter account just for the heck of it. I was seeing "follow me on Twitter" on a couple of blogs and I read some posts about it so I decided to sign up. I figured you can't do enough marketing right?

I AM a little confused about it though. I guess I don't get it. Am I missing something?

This is the function of Twitter as I see it. Periodically you write up to 140 characters of whatever in this little box. People can opt to follow you on Twitter and you can follow them. When you reply to their short posts and that shows up on your "main page." You also have the ability to do a little customizing to your page. The way I look at it, it's basically like a mini-blog. People can subscribe to you (follow you), leave comments (reply to you), and read your posts.

So is there something that I am not seeing? I have never claimed to be the smartest person on the planet...just the 5th smartest.

I can't handle two social networking type things. Maybe someday, if I can make enough money at blogging to do it full time, but not working a full time job, too.

@James Michael Wilcox - Thank you for posting your idea on how to use twitter. That is an ingenious way of getting your little blurbs out without sucking up post space. I like it.
