The Advertising of Yesterday Part V
Hmmm. Man sized pleasure huh?

Falstaff really hit a home run with this one in August of 1965. An open body of water symbolizing something and a confusing tag line? OK, someone help me out here, anyone have a clue?
Now, if this was a ad for the Beef Producers Association and there was a picture of a 32 oz steak and some baked beans loaded with bacon and in the background there stood a monster truck and a toilet with a 17 inch seat height, I might be able to get the "man sized pleasure" tie-in.
Have a great weekend everyone!

You got me, buddy. I haven't a clue what the comparison is for with that ocean/beer comparison. Just goes to show that advertising's the same way today. Some really hit the mark, while others are left on the puzzle shelf.
Ha ha ha... Yep that was one for the puzzle shelf. And your right Mark, sometimes I see an ad and I don't get it.
Do you remember the Quiznos Subs "sponge monkey "ads? Those were definitely in the "I don't get it" category.
Wonderful!
Maybe there is something really cool and subliminal embedded in there...
@eric - yeah I was looking for that too.
